♥ hello summer

would you believe that it is finally the long awaited summer holidays? it's taken a while for it to register in my head. so far, i've had a lovely few days.

eating strawberry bonbons and drinking tea and buying new clothes and making rain clouds out of paper and red ribbons and pink satin bows and sleepovers and chocolate spread on pancakes and being with friends and jammy biscuits and cherries and watching films and finishing school and sitting on the corner of the road and french manicures and starbucks and going on swings and writing stories and climbing trees and sitting on grass and apple shampoo and bestest friends and millions and art journaling and lots of rain!

its raining its pouring

i just looked outside my window and i couldn't see anything except a blurry mess. the rain is falling so hard that its actually making it hard to see past it. the pavement is flooding and puddles are forming.

i wish i was still in paris in the sunshine!
the water droplets are chasing each other down the window pane

one day, we'll live in paris

i am home! i had the most beautiful, inspiring, wonderful trip to paris and i wish i could've stayed for just a bit longer. i did so many things that will stay with me forever and i'll never forget.
we travelled for a long long time on monday after meeting up at half six in the morning. we when arrived in france we stopped at a teeny service station, and you wouldn't believe the difference i had already noticed from england. no greasy fast food restaurants or newsagents. only a lovely little french cafe with juice machines and a gift shop full of tasty sweets and ice creams and souvenirs. when it got dark, we walked down to a miniature carnival to celebrate bastille. we ate pink fluffy candyfloss and danced to live french music and watched fireworks.
on tuesday we took a trip down to parc asterix and i had a lovely time. i went on the big wooden rollercoaster and rode a horse on a magical carousel.
wednesday was my favourite. we first looked around the french markets where i bought a wonderful cream floaty shirt and some pastel pink nail varnish and some fresh raspberries which were delicious! next was the musee d'orsay which was utterly beautiful. i took endless photographs of the beautiful carved ceilings and the huge gold ornate clock on the wall. we sat on the rooftop and looked at the views over paris in the bright sunshine. we popped into the shops around the louvre and then went to the sacre coeur. i don't think i can say that i have ever felt so enchanted in my whole life. the white domed ceilings and stained glass windows and glowing candles. it was so so beautiful, i wish i was allowed to take pictures inside.

i went to the very top of the eiffel tower on thursday and did some shopping along the champs elysees. i also went on a bateux mouche which was basically a boat ride down the river seine. it was so relaxing. the view from the eiffel tower was magnificant!

yesterday we went to monets garden and then made a very long journey home.

i bought some jeggings, which i love, and i also bought the most darling necklace. it is a small pink china teacup and saucer with a gold spoon hanging on a delicate gold chain. i am truely in love with it.

i also popped into the library today and i got alice and wonderland. i love it, as its the proper old version with all the original pictures.

i have just watched harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban and i never ever get tired of watching it. i really want to go and see the new film, harry potter and the half blood prince, but i'm in paris when it comes out in cinemas! oh well, i can wait until i am back :)

i need to go and start sorting out all my things to take with me to france, everything needs to be folded and all my jewellery needs to be wrapped up in pink tissue paper :)

so, as there are only eight days left until i go to france, ma mere took me shopping today and i have been so spoiled!

i had a really lovely day with my mother walking around the shops and trying on pretty dresses in the topshop sale and stopping at muffin break for a coke and a double chocolate chip muffin (yum!)

these are a few of the things i bought today:

two pairs of cute gingham knickers with lace around the edges and little bows on, in pale pink and pale green
a pink rosey toiletry bag to take to paris
lots of mini toiletries to put in my pink rosey bag
some new hightop white converse! ♥
some lovely gold and brown studded sandals
a lace print top from topshop in the sale for ten pounds!

the most beautiful peach tunic from topshop decorated with silver sequins on the front and draped sequin strands over an open back! i've actually fallen in love!

i bought the tunic from topshop to wear to my school formal day on friday! i cannot wait! its so pretty and it makes me feel all magical and sparkley.

i am so very excited to go to paris, i am counting down the days! oh, and i'm also very excited for tim burtons alice and wonderland! i'm going to go and see harry potter and the half blood prince when it comes out too!

at the moment have been playing my guitair again, or attempting to at least. i find it really relaxing. i will be popping into the library too next week to get some books for ths summer. i was thinking of finding alice in wonderland if they have it, that is, as its such a good old classic :) i have also been considering my sisters keeper by jodi picoult but it looks so sad! has anyone got any good suggestions for my summer reads? let me know! :)

waiting and fading and floating away

i've had a very busy week and as a result i am oh so very tired! i did my french show and it went amazingly! i have had some horrible exams to do and i have done lots and lots of dancing! last weekend it was fathers day and i made my daddy a cd with lots of old songs that he likes on it, and funnily enough they were all already on my playlist! i listen to so much old music its ridiculous! i also did lots of revision which was very boring and i have drunk lots of cups of tea with chocolate chip cookies. today i went to a carnival in the park where i ate some candyfloss and some flying saucers with sherbet in the middle.

i want to go downstairs and get some chocolate milkshake and animal crackers but i'm too scared because my daddy isn't home yet. he went to visit some of my family in london today. i might get my brother to come with me.

chocolate milkshake in a special father christmas glass!

i went out for a lovely meal this evening. i wore my special sparkley silver shoes! i love the little monthly catch-ups with my sister, nearly sister-in-law, my neice and my little nephew. sometimes my brothers come along too. my nearly sister-in-law is going to have a baby soon! i cannot wait to be an aunty again! i have a gut feeling that she will have a baby girl. secretly i wish she would have a baby girl because then she could be like my little sister! and i could play dolls with her and buy her little dresses and do her hair for her. it would be so lovely.

oh! and i have to tell you about my wonderful day in the rain yesterday! it was so magical! yesterday the rain was pouring so much, that our school was almost flooding! at lunchtime my friends and i went out in the rain and danced around and splashed in puddles and it was so much fun! we got very wet with mascara was running down our cheeks and wet messy hair and clothes sticking to our skin. when i got home i snuggled up with a cup of tea and my pyjamas. i wish i had taken some pictures!

finally i am very sad about michael jackson, rip mj x

i am so very tired that my eyelids are drooping, i am going to curl up and listen to lykke li and get some much needed rest!

goodnight lovelies x x

worrying the night away

I'm so worried at the moment. About everything generally. I could honestly cry with frustration and nerves and just general worrying. I suppose I'm just in one of those moods, but I know it's not good. I want everything to just hurry and be over, and before I know it I'll be back to my old self.

I hope. I hope. I hope.

I'm going to go and sleep. I need to rest. For the first night in weeks I don't feel like watching Twilight, I just want to curl up and fall asleep to Clair de Lune on my ipod. Nothings good now. Nothing at all.

Goodnight x

mirror mirror on the wall

Hello my dears, I haven't been on in a few days.

I haven't been feeling very well the past few days, very much not myself. I don't like being miserable, and sad and poorly. I'm listening to Jose Gonzalez, his voice is perfect. My mother just sat in my bedroom and dried her hair, and now all I can smell is peppermint shampoo. Yesterday, I practised for the French show, Blanche Neige. I play the magical mirror on the wall! I've been learning my lines and hopefully I will remember them all, as the days are counting down until the show! I went to school as usual today. I wish I could've stayed at home, snuggled under the covers watching Twilight and eating Bourbon creams. I helped paint my magical mirror today, all different shades of gold and bronze. We wanted to add some gold glitter, but we couldn't find any around the art classroom, would you believe.

Unfortunately, my mirror isn't quite as pretty as this one.

peonies and peaches

Mmm.. how pretty?
I'm getting a little addicted to looking at photographs on weheartit, especially these lovely flowery, summery ones. I love the colours of this one, I'm going through a bit of a girly stage where I'm liking colours such as coral/peach/pink/cream/white etc...
Right now, I'm watching Twilight and eating peaches. It's raining again, how disapointing. Robert Pattinson looks nice, peaches taste nice and rain smells nice.

picking flowers

My week has been pretty bad, actually. I haven't been in the nicest of moods, which is never good. I had three textiles exams this week, and I'm not feeling exactly confident about getting good grades on them. The weather has slowly decreased to somewhat miserable as usual, and I haven't been feeling very well either :(
Due to this, I have had a week-long Twilight therapy session, and it's made me feel much better. I have watched the film/read the book so many times, I can honestly quote the whole script fluently. I cannot wait for New Moon, I watched the trailer the other day and I can't help feeling desperate for November to come around!

strawberry tart please

Strawberry tart, mm.

I didn't like going back to school very much, but I'm taking part in a French performance of 'Blance Neige,' so I get time out of lessons and such to practise :-)

I've got a textiles exam tomorrow, oh dear.

i fell in love at the seaside

Photographs by me.
Ive had a lovely week off from school, shame it's gone so fast. This weekend has been especially beautiful with all the hot weather, and it's given me an excuse to give my camera a bit of exercise :-)
I've been lying around on a hammock all day, and I've just had a lovely barbecue. Nothing smells better than barbeque on a summery day.
Boooo, school tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it in the slightest.

bake me a cake

Good afternoon!
I went shopping with ma mere this morning, and I bought a pretty new top and some beige nail varnish. I've been looking for a nude colour everywhere, that of course was in my price range, and wasn't too french manicure-y, and I managed to find one today :-)
We also bought some eggs, strawberry jam and pink food colouring, as today was cake-making day!
I began making my cake, and I hoped for it too look something a little like this...
sponge cake Pictures, Images and Photos
Lets just say, before you continue reading, I am really not cut out for cooking.
I started making the mixture and the eggs and sugar and butter began to curdle. I was whisking it really fast and my arm was aching. I don't know how mon pere does it, he whisks it so fast, it only takes 2 minutes and it swishes about in the bowl without making any mess or splashing over the sides. I managed to smooth out the mixture after a while, and after adding the flour, I put it in a cake tray and popped it in the oven for 20 minutes.
I don't exactly know what went wrong, I followed all the instructions correctly. The cake didnt rise exactly to plan, so it was more like a decorated biscuit. And even the decorating went wrong as I didn't realise our shortage of icing sugar, or where it had all gone (I tell a lie, I probably ate it all. Isn't icing sugar the nicest thing ever?) Never mind, the cake actually tasted very nice in the end! :-)
I'm going to see Tormented later, and I really, really am dreading it. I'm not very good when it comes to scary films! I only want to see it as it was filmed where I live! Ahh well, looks like I'll be covering my eyes most of the evening.
Goodbye for now, lovelovelove! x
