i fell in love at the seaside

Ive had a lovely week off from school, shame it's gone so fast. This weekend has been especially beautiful with all the hot weather, and it's given me an excuse to give my camera a bit of exercise :-)

I've been lying around on a hammock all day, and I've just had a lovely barbecue. Nothing smells better than barbeque on a summery day.

Boooo, school tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it in the slightest.

I went shopping today and I bought these shoes. I thought they were very cute indeed :-)

The weather has been very nice today, sunshine makes me happy! :-)

bake me a cake

Good afternoon!

I went shopping with ma mere this morning, and I bought a pretty new top and some beige nail varnish. I've been looking for a nude colour everywhere, that of course was in my price range, and wasn't too french manicure-y, and I managed to find one today :-)

We also bought some eggs, strawberry jam and pink food colouring, as today was cake-making day!

I began making my cake, and I hoped for it too look something a little like this...

Lets just say, before you continue reading, I am really not cut out for cooking.

I started making the mixture and the eggs and sugar and butter began to curdle. I was whisking it really fast and my arm was aching. I don't know how mon pere does it, he whisks it so fast, it only takes 2 minutes and it swishes about in the bowl without making any mess or splashing over the sides. I managed to smooth out the mixture after a while, and after adding the flour, I put it in a cake tray and popped it in the oven for 20 minutes.

I don't exactly know what went wrong, I followed all the instructions correctly. The cake didnt rise exactly to plan, so it was more like a decorated biscuit. And even the decorating went wrong as I didn't realise our shortage of icing sugar, or where it had all gone (I tell a lie, I probably ate it all. Isn't icing sugar the nicest thing ever?) Never mind, the cake actually tasted very nice in the end! :-)

I'm going to see Tormented later, and I really, really am dreading it. I'm not very good when it comes to scary films! I only want to see it as it was filmed where I live! Ahh well, looks like I'll be covering my eyes most of the evening.

happy half term

I cannot wait until I go to France. Honestly, I am so excited, fourty seven days to go!

My week off so far has been quite nice, especially Sunday, as the weather was beautiful! I wore my denim shorts with bare legs for once. Unfortunately, I don't think I caught the sun very much, although I spent the whole day in the sunshine. Never mind. The rain the past few days has been disapointing though. Don't get me wrong, I love the rain now and then, but I want to get a nice tan as a head start before France and Spain this year! Wowee, just thinking about holidays and summer makes me feel all happy inside :-)

I also got my sewing machine working today, which was my Nannies and is very old. I wanted to customise some tops I have with silk and lace and pearls. I've been stitching an Alice in Wonderland white rabbit made from white silk, onto a navy floral background. He's not finished yet, I might have to make him a bit bigger, as he's getting a bit fiddly to work with. I want to make an Alice aswell, but I'm thinking I might paint her instead. I want to catch up on some more painting, as I did do some a few weeks back. I painted some songs. I want to make a big folder of all my art work/paintings/sewing/collages/photography. I will take some photos, but as my laptop is not working, I cannot upload anything.




I very much need to go to the library and get some new books to read. I've felt a bit deprived of reading after finishing Twilight of what seems like a decade ago. I want to get the Secret Garden. I've always loved that book.

I want to bake a cake!
